Dear praying friends,

I know Saturdays are busy days for families, but I am trusting God that He will call the very ones to be checking this site that He wants to be in prayer for Chris today.

I just got off the phone with Chris this morning and am concerned about a symptom he is experiencing as of late last night and today. We know the oxygen is powerful in promoting healing, and doesn’t have any significant negative side effects, but Chris is experiencing shaking that he cannot stop.

We don’t actually know if this is an MS symptom or is being caused by the levels of oxygen he is getting. Sometimes Chris feels like he is shaking inside because his internal body temperature is very low (a somewhat lower temperature actually helps him keep moving!).

The shaking he is experiencing may be attributed to that, but it sounds like something different. In addition, of even greater concern to me is that when he woke up last night to go to the bathroom, he didn’t know where he was. He did call out for Joseph to help him, but Chris clearly did not feel at all himself.

I invite you to pray that God would make clear if he is to try and get any additional medical help, if he is to back off the oxygen any, or if he needs to grow even more in being patient with his MS symptoms.

Additional prayer for today–we beseech the Lord that:

1. God would minister His peace to Chris in the midst of these new, perplexing symptoms;
2. the shaking would go away, and if it doesn’t, God would give Chris much grace while we pursue finding out the cause;
3. God would make clear to Joseph and Chris if they are to pursue additional medical treatment (probably in Boone, 45 minutes to the south), or if they need to shorten the length of his daily oxygen treatment of two hours;
4. Chris would have no more disorientation, particularly at night, when he tends to feel more helpless anyway.

“But Thou, O God, the Lord, deal kindly  with me for Thy name’s; because Thy lovingkindness is good, deliver me; for I am afflicted and needy, and my heart is wounded within me. I am passing like a shadow when it lengthens; I am shaken off like the locust. My knees are weak from fasting; and my flesh has grown lean, without fatness…~Psalm 109:21-24, 26-27, 30

Help me, O Lord my God; save me according to Thy lovingkindness. And let them know that this is Thy hand; Thou, Lord, has done it…

With my mouth I will give thanks abundantly to the Lord; and in the midst of many I will praise Him.”
